The son of former Barcelona star Ronaldinho, 18-year-old Joao Mendes, has been signed by the Catalan giants. On Thursday, Mendes completed a contract to transfer to the Catalan behemoth from Cruzeiro of Brazil. After initially joining the Belo Horizonte squad without disclosing that he was the son of the former Brazil player, the adolescent traveled to Barcelona in January for a trial and eventually signed with the club permanently. The child emulates his famous father, who played for La Blaugrana for five years and scored 94 goals in 207 games.
