Joining fellow Australian Cam Smith at Ripper GC, Lucas Herbert is about to be named as LIV Golf's newest acquisition for the 2024 season. According to golf news reports, the 28-year-old has joined Smith and the rest of the breakaway league, bringing their roster to a final tally with only weeks to go until the first LIV tournament in Mexico. After Herbert commented, "How's the photo?" in response to Flushing It on Instagram, the story began to gain momentum. With the addition of Herbert, Smith, Marc Leishman, and Matt Jones—replacing the demoted Jediah Morgan—Ripper will again have an all-Aussie lineup. Latest LIV Golf MemberThough the first tournament is less than a month away, Smith was still left with a mixed crew as of last week. He then decided to reintegrate Jones into the setup following the Australian's fall into free agency at the end of 2023; it seems he has since signed a PGA Tour competitor. Herbert has won on the American tour before. In 2021, he won the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. He has also won the Dubai Desert Classic, the Irish Open, and the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan in the past four years. The Australian also has two DP World Tour victories to his credit. Just last month, Jon Rahm, winner of the Masters, moved to the Saudi Tour, and now the 28-year-old will join him. With his record-breaking £450 million agreement, which he inked with the Saudi-backed LIV in December, Rahm became the league's most famous player. Do you have a golf sportsbook?
